Accessibility in Burlesque, Both On and Off Stage w/ Minda Mae

Where: Over Zoom

Date: Tuesday, October 12

Time: 7:00pm – 8:00pm PST

Whether you’re a disabled performer navigating the performance world or an able-bodied producer who wants to create accessible events, we hope you will join Minda Mae, founder of the DisabiliTease Festival, as she shares some of her favorite tools, tricks, and know-how to create space for every Disabilibabe

Minda Mae puts the “babe” in Disabilibabe. Hailing from Minneapolis, this boundless beauty is the first wheelchair-using burlesque performer in Minnesota. A few years ago, she found herself mostly bed-bound by chronic illness, but a chance outing to a burlesque show changed everything and her journey as a Disabilibabe began! A fierce advocate for persons with disabilities, she works tirelessly to spread awareness and champions for change at every opportunity. She is the producer of the DisabiliTease Festival; the first professional festival exclusively for burlesque, circus, and drag performers with disabilities. Don’t ‘dis’ her ‘ability’ to capture your heart, because that’s how this wheeling woman of wonder rolls.

Suggested ticket price is $20, however, please just pay what you can. We don’t want anyone to miss out on this important topic due to lack of funds.

If you have any specific topics or questions for Minda, please enter them at: https://forms.gle/TVHro4Jy9uyTCb7t6 before September 29, 2021 and she will attempt to address as many as she can!

Hope to see you there!
