This series is targeted toward existing solo burlesque performers\, but is also open to those who want to explore this style as well. \nThis class is great for learning how to be present and grounded while on stage\, and creating awareness within your body. \n***Please note that I am still currently on sabbatical from Passion and Performance dance studio due to a heavy course load. It is imperative that you are here to participate in both of these aspects of the class in order to prevent injury. \n*Once you have made your deposit\, I will be sending you a liability waiver that must be signed prior to being in class. \n*For this series specifically\, dancing in bare feet is fine\, or you can purchase jazz shoes or soft ballet shoes from Toes ‘n taps. Join me \, Hazel Nuez \, for this 5 week workshop where we will learn how to recognize a basic 8 count in a musical phrase and how to choreograph with intention. \n**** \nRegister today! I have performed all over Victoria for most of my life\, and while doing so\, I have discovered my love for burlesque and striptease about 2 years ago. I loved the way it made me love my body and boost my confidence. I am going to work hard to try and find an accessible location in the future. The washroom is gender neutral.The studio is a scent free space. The music will operate through the studios portable speaker ( one speaker) which I will attach to my iPod . I will have control over the sound level\, but the room has great acoustics! Music: TBD \nThe first practice session is a drop in for members AND non-memberz to come try out the choreo and see how much you love it! \nIf you wish to continue after the first session we require a commitment to perform so our choreographer\, Chai Tease\, can space the routine properly! \nWhat happens when you LOVE the choreo and want to join the collective?! GREAT QUESTION!!! \nNow is the perfect time to join as we are entering the New Year and really moving forward with this amazing performance momentum we’ve developed in 2019! \nThere is an annual $20.00 membership fee and includes the following perks of joining! \n*COMMUNITY ~ We are a dance family. Of course you are family without even joining but it feels really good to have your name officially recorded in the family book! \nGROUP DANCES ~ Choreographed by the one and only Chai Tease only collective members are able to partake in the group performances. Practice sessions take place on most Sundays from 6-7pm at Passion and Performance in studio space rented by the collective. \nPROMO ~ We have seasonal photoshoots to get promotional photos/videos of the group/collective. You will have access to these for your own promotion as well (with credit given to the photographer and collective) \nPRIORITY CASTING ~ When casting performances for Pervz&Curvz productions we have a higher amount of performance slots reserved for collective members. �This means is that if we are casting 10 performances we reserve 8 slots for collective members and 2 slots for guest performances. **please note\, membership does not guarantee your act will be cast in a particular production.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time to step up your game! Cherry Cheeks is bringing TWO workshops to Victoria Sunday\, February 2nd at the Wild Roots Dance & Yoga Studio. Learn to make the stage your new best friend with “Stage it Up!” and then bring your confidence to it with “Fake It!” \n***Registration & Payment***\nFee: Workshops are $20 each or $30 for both.\n*Space is limited. (1:00pm – 2:30pm) \nDo you get your stage left and right mixed up? Do you have difficulty using the entire stage for your routine? The stage is one of the biggest parts of our performance\, yet it can be intimidating to get to know… but it’s time to make it your new best friend! \nComing full force with a theatre background\, Cherry Cheeks will show you the ins and outs to owning your stage! Participants can expect to leave knowing the magic stage dynamics\, to easily move their routines between various stages and how to consciously use the stage to your advantage. She will demonstrate the different effects\, pictures\, and stories you can portray by the simplest placement while knowing how to use your fourth wall. \n***\nFake It! (Till you make it) (2:45pm – 4:30pm) \nDo you suffer from the inevitable “imposter syndrome?” Is confidence something you have trouble building on? Do you strive to build your persona and performance into ways that may…well…not come naturally to you? What if you were told that there are ways to fake it?! In this class\, Cherry Cheeks will guide you through confidence building exercises to get you off the ground! Going from part theory into practice\, you will learn to bring your A-game\, even when you may not be feeling it. But it’s not all bogus! Eventually your practice can naturally build into genuine confidence that can flood into your life. \n**** \nplease bring a notebook\, water bottle\, and comfortable clothing that you can move in. \nWild Roots Dance Studio has a set of stairs to get to the studio.
