DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: Proof of vaccination REQUIRED to attend.\n\n\n\nWe are excited to be offering a drop in group choreo practice session on Sunday Sept 26 \, 2021 from 6:00-7:00pm\n\n\n\nOur November show theme is extra fun: Netflix & Chill Movie Night Burlesque!!!\n\n\n\nGroup Routine Title : Show Me How You Burlesque\nTheme: Cabaret Showgirls\nDance Style: Upbeat/Gogo style\, lots of acting.\nWe’ll be opening OR closing the show with this act!\n\nMusic: from the movie Burlesque.\n\n\n\nThe first practice session is a drop in for members AND non-memberz to come try out the choreo and see how much you love it!\nIf you wish to continue after the first session we require a commitment to perform so our choreographer\, Chai Tease\, can space the routine properly!\nIf you are a member already: We will create a post in the group asking who is performing comment on the post if you ARE wanting to perform!\n\nNot a member and curious what happens when you LOVE the choreo and want to join the collective?! GREAT QUESTION!!!\nNow is the perfect time to join as we are ramping up our performances and really moving forward with this amazing momentum we’ve developed!\nThere is an annual $20.00 membership fee and includes the following perks of joining!\n\n*COMMUNITY ~ We are a dance family. Of course you are family without even joining but it feels really good to have your name officially recorded in the family book!\nGROUP DANCES ~ Choreographed by the one and only Chai Tease\, only collective members are able to partake in the group performances. Practice sessions take place on most Sundays from 6-7pm at Passion and Performance in studio space rented by the collective. ALL group performances get paid out and tipped as a solo routine with the money going back to the Collective to help fund the groups activities.\nPROMO ~ We have seasonal photoshoots to get promotional photos/videos of the group/collective. You will have access to these for your own promotion as well (with credit given to the photographer and collective)\nPRIORITY CASTING ~ When casting performances for Pervz&Curvz productions we have a higher amount of performance slots reserved for collective members. �This means is that if we are casting 10 performances we reserve 8 slots for collective members and 2 slots for guest performances. **please note\, membership does not guarantee your act will be cast in a particular production.

DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re a performer\, actor\, dancer or you just like to dress up – WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU! \nCome to the Victoria Event Centre on Sunday\, October 27th from 12PM to 6PM for a Community Costume Swap & Shop! \nSuggested entry free $2-$5 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. All door entry proceeds are going to the continual upgrades at the Victoria Event Centre. The bar will be open for those wanting a coffee\, tea\, pint or cocktail. \nWe will have clothing racks and tables for those who have costumes\, odds/ends\, props and more to sell.\nCASH ONLY – there is an ATM inside. Some sellers do accept e-transfers! \nWe will have the main stage set up as a GIANT SWAP/FREE PILE! Have some costume bits you want to get rid of? Unload them here and grab some new pieces! Please only bring items that are in good condition. No major holes\, stains or flaws. \nPlease bring your own bags to take your new threads home with you as we will have limited bags to give away.\nThe leftover free pile\, we will donate to a local organization (Peers\, WIN\, Sandy Merriman). \nVENDORS and SWAPPERS:\n– Florence Fatale\n– more TBA \nThose wishing to sell things:\n– Email florencefatale@victoriaeventcentre.ca to reserve your spot and to be added to the organization group.\n– There is no charge to be a vendor but we are accepting donations for the continual upgrades at the Victoria Event Centre.\n– You are in charge of pricing and selling your items. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people. \n┄ \nThe Victoria Event Centre (VEC) is a non-profit organization (Victoria Multi-Cultual Society) that operates a multi-purpose rental venue for non-profits\, arts groups\, cultural communities and everyone in between. \nAt the VEC there is zero tolerance for any type of racist\, sexist\, ableist\, fatphobic\, transphobic or homophobic behaviour. If you feel uncomfortable at any time please take care of yourself and/or find one of our community support folks to help out. \n┄ \nVEC Accessibility: \nThere are three multi-user\, gender-inclusive bathrooms with stalls. One bathroom has a larger stall with its own sink and a grab bar (more details in the ‘Bathrooms’ section). \nThe Victoria Event Centre currently does not have an operational elevator\, and there is one long flight of stairs at the venue entrance. The only way into the VEC is up 27 wood stairs\, 11″ deep\, 6″ high. There are wooden 2.5” handrails 38” up the wall on each side of the staircase (54” apart\, so not graspable on both sides at once). See further details in ‘Getting Inside’ section) \nIf you would like to attend the event but require assistance with accessing the space\, please contact us at events@victoriaeventcentre.ca and VEC staff will do their best to accommodate. \nInside the Victoria Event Centre there is a gender inclusive wheelchair accessible washroom that technically fits necessary size dimensions\, but is missing a bar and a handrail beside the toilet.
